Affordable Care Act Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program-Submission of the Statewide Needs Assessment
This webinar will give an overview of the newly released Supplemental Information Request (SIR) for States to submit the statewide needs assessment which is required for all states. The SIR was released on August 19, 2010 and the statewide needs assessment is due on September 20, 2011. States must provide a statewide needs assessment as a condition of receiving payment of the FY 2011 Title V Block Grant funds, and the statewide needs assessment is required irrespective of whether the state intends to apply for a grant to provide home visiting services under ACA 2951. The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, created as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Affordable Care Act or ACA) (P.L. 111-148) is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), in collaboration with the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and will promote healthy child development and improved maternal and child health outcomes. A brief Q&A period follows the presentations.
